WIND RIVER is a chilling thriller that follows a rookie FBI agent (Elizabeth Olsen) who teams up with a local game tracker with deep community ties and a haunted past (Jeremy Renner) to investigate the murder of a local girl on a remote Native American Reservation in the hopes of solving her mysterious death. Written and directed by Taylor Sheridan, WIND RIVER also stars Gil Birmingham, Jon Bernthal, Julia Jones, Kelsey Asbille, and James Jordan.

This film was gripping, suspenseful, and heart wrenching at times. I loved the slow build up to the climax. I also thoroughly enjoyed Elizabeth Olsen and Jeremy Renner's acting - they were perfect for those roles.

Enjoyed.There are things that didn't make sense: (1) Why were the oilfield chaps geared up in military gear and just waiting like sitting ducks (2) When he noticed the snowmobile tracks going up and not coming back... that was never clear -- although they could have just continued on over the mountain.

The barren, freezing landscape of Wyoming constantly reminds you of the cold and callous end to the girl's life at the beginning of the movie. The scenes are raw and uncompromising. It brings a different perspective to the words, "cold hearted killer". You leave, not as a movie watcher, but almost like a participant in the ordeal. A great movie that brings you in and grips you until the end.
