VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS is the visually spectacular new adventure film from Luc Besson, the legendary director of The Professional, The Fifth Element and Lucy, based on the ground-breaking comic book series which inspired a generation of artists, writers and filmmakers.
In the 28th century, Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are a team of special operatives charged with maintaining order throughout the human territories. Under assignment from the Minister of Defense, the two embark on a mission to the astonishing city of Alpha—an ever-expanding metropolis where species from all over the universe have converged over centuries to share knowledge, intelligence and cultures with each other. There is a mystery at the center of Alpha, a dark force which threatens the peaceful existence of the City of a Thousand Planets, and Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.

I really liked it. I had heard reviews that’s it would be like Avatar but it wasn’t. It was so much better. Defiantly wouldn’t mind watching again!
This movie was definitely fun and it made me reminisce of the Fifth Element with a combination of other great movies. This was a fun through ride especially in 3-D.
The CGI was second to none, probably the bestCG interactions between actors and CG characters since Avatar. Would watch again.
Combines Sci-Fi, thrill, and beauty in a neo-futuristic direction. Loved Cara, as well!
The movie turned out to be really good. The effects were great. One movie i truly enjoyed watching in 3D. This movie is totally under hyped.
This was a fun film. Animation was colorful and Very unique. Lots of crazy alien life forms and beautiful space scenes. There is a ton of action and was only slightly bored towards the end with the long winded explanation of the Mu planet. If you live Star Wars, this is a definite must see!
Brimming with dazzling little ideas. The movie's generosity and visual audacity is enough to overcome its unremarkable plot and clunky characters.

Visually amazing for a 3D movie. A very entertaining movie that a people of all ages can watch together even though it's rated PG13. I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
