Although definitely not for the weak of stomach, RAW was a brilliant introductory feature film for director Julia Ducournau. It is not often that a horror film--more specifically in the sub genre of body horror--becomes a beautiful feast for the eyes and cinematic work of art but Ducournau has broken through amongst a surplus of excessive and pointless horror films.
