At the age of 34, former New Orleans Saints defensive back Steve Gleason was diagnosed with ALS and given a life expectancy of two to five years. Weeks later, Gleason found out his wife, Michel, was expecting their first child. A video journal that began as a gift for his unborn son expands to chronicle Steve’s determination to get his relationships in order, build a foundation to provide other ALS patients with purpose, and adapt to his declining physical condition—utilizing medical technologies that offer the means to live as fully as possible.

wonderfully inspirational movie but also very sad'
This was an emotional story. Very uplifting and for me made me want to do more to help others. My biggest question was how our government can withhold anything that helps quality of life to anyone. Very good movie I will definitely recommend this movie to all
Wow! What a powerful movie. Steve Gleason's heart to know and be known by his child, and to demonstrate his love for his long-suffering wife comes through strongly. This movie alternately inspired me, made me cry, made me laugh and made me wonder how I would deal with a crushing life event like having ALS. This is what movies should be like.

It was a heart warming, hopeful and sad movie of a person who decided to stay alive and fight for life for his family/
