Convinced it’s one last, necessary crime on the path to redemption, unapologetic and free-spirited Inez kidnaps 6-year-old Terry from the foster care system. Holding on to their secret and each other, mother and son set out to reclaim their sense of home, identity, and stability in New York City.

This was one of the most moving films I have seen in a theater in a long time. Detailed, dramatic, deeply painful. A Thousand and One will be one of the best films of 2023 and it is only March.
This movie tap to every emotion of a human.
Great acting great story!
As a black women this story hit home not the foster child part but the way the man and woman spoke to each other black me are always saying that some black women are to strong she said say nothing like I do when you don´t come home wow so true and when he died and she told said to her son that is Lucky girlfriend and baby invite them over a give them a plate this is so true in some people lives. I cried all through this movie.
Great story, Very good acting. Very realistic. Heavy subject but presented in compassionate manner. Dealt with many issues that persist in real life. Getting incarcerated individuals back into society, plight of single moms in society today, gentrification of neighborhoods. Well done film
Definitely a tear jerker! Great storyline and the actors and actresses executed very well. Real and raw.
This is the kind of movie that I love. I’m so happy it won at Sundance. I really loved it.

I really enjoyed this movie. I thought Teyana was great. The reveal near the end was shocking.
