Based on a true story, Father Stu is an unflinchingly honest, funny and ultimately uplifting drama about a lost soul who finds his purpose in a most unexpected place. When an injury ends his amateur boxing career, Stuart Long (Mark Wahlberg) moves to L.A. dreaming of stardom. While scraping by as a supermarket clerk, he meets Carmen (Teresa Ruiz), a Catholic Sunday school teacher who seems immune to his bad-boy charm. Determined to win her over, the longtime agnostic starts going to church to impress her. But surviving a terrible motorcycle accident leaves him wondering if he can use his second chance to help others find their way, leading to the surprising realization that he is meant to be a Catholic priest. Despite a devastating health crisis and the skepticism of Church officials and his estranged parents (Mel Gibson and Jacki Weaver), Stu pursues his vocation with courage and compassion, inspiring not only those closest to him but countless others along the way.

Already recommended it to others, including my 79 year old parents. Moving and inspiring picture. At no point did the movie get dull or drag on, and it is not like some of the other recent faith based movies that make life look like a day in church solves everything. Father Stu battled life and himself the whole way. What a motivational film.
Mark Wahlberg was good in this movie full of comedy and drama. It's is a must see movie!!
Great movie really touching and funny in lots of parts

It was a passionate movie he gave all his love to the community and learn to love his self learning about God His parents learn to love each other threw his prayers for them the movie teach us we need to for give those that hurt us and people we hurt
Beautiful movie! One of Mark Wahlberg’s best performances. I also thought Mel Gibson was outstanding. The movie really touched my soul!
I liked the overall movie and storyline. Some of marks likes were hard to understand either because he mumbled or said them too fast but other than that, the movie was great.

I didn't look at the trailer nor did I look up the info about the movie. Went in totally oblivious as to what to expect. \r\rI loved it from beginning to end. If I had to sum it up in 1 word, I'd say inspirational. Definitely worth seeing. Tearjerker for sure.
