KNIGHT OF CUPS follows Rick, an uninspired screenwriter living on the event horizon of all the vice, and some of the virtues, Los Angeles has to offer. He is a slave to the Hollywood system; addicted to success but simultaneously despairing at the emptiness of his life. With the death of his brother Billy hanging over him like a shadow and his surviving brother down on his luck, Rick seeks distraction in the company of women. Women seem to know him better than he know himself, bringing him closer to the heart of things, closer to understanding his place. And while the parties, the dalliances, and the career remain unfulfilling - each woman, each man he’s met through the course of his life has served him in some way as a guide, a messenger. This visceral journey through one man’s City of Angels has just begun.

We walked out. Visually interesting but unless your on LSD, the story won't make any sense.
If I could give this film negative stars I would. The film was random, disjointed and incomprehensible and frankly painful to watch. I want thos 2 hours of my life back. There truly was a great cast of actors but their performances made no sense. People left in the middle in droves.
It was terrible it didn't make sense I walked out and so did slot of people
The only movie I've ever walked out of before the end! The question my husband and I had was "How did this film ever attract such named stars and ever get made? Entertainment value, zero. No enjoyment at at watching a lost man waste his life. If I could, I'd give this film zero stars.
This was by far one of the most confusing and pointless movies I've ever sat through. I cannot believe so many ppl did the same. I think we all just thought at some point any second it was all going to make sense. It did not. A handful of ppl did leave early. Wish I'd been one of them.
Visuals were hypnotic. Otherwise, the film was too chaotic for me.

I thought this movie was awful. It was extremely slow-paced, did not have a story as far as I can tell and just seemed to have Christian Bale standing or walking in different settings with him hooking up with one or two girls numerous times throughout the movie. The nudity was gratuitous and the voice-overs made no sense.
