From BAFTA award-winning director Asif Kapadia (SENNA), AMY tells the incredible story of six-time Grammy-winner Amy Winehouse – in her own words. Featuring extensive unseen archive footage and previously unheard tracks, this strikingly modern, moving and vital film shines a light on the world we live in, in a way that very few can. A once-in-a-generation talent, Amy Winehouse was a musician that captured the world’s attention. A pure jazz artist in the most authentic sense – she wrote and sung from the heart using her musical gifts to analyse her own problems. The combination of her raw honesty and supreme talent resulted in some of the most unique and adored songs of the modern era. Her huge success, however, resulted in relentless and invasive media attention which coupled with Amy’s troubled relationships and precarious lifestyle saw her life tragically begin to unravel. Amy Winehouse died from alcohol poisoning in July 2011 at the age of 27.

Didn't know much of her story and was glad to see it be told in her truth So much to offer and so much she had to deal with
Amazing film and a very important one. Honest. True to her life and short journey in this life, it didn't judge her actions and gave a voice and focus to her talent that had not been td.
A moving film that kept my attention from start to finish. Unbelievable life.
Great film and amazing insight into Winehouse's career and life. Pacing was excellent and storytelling was well balanced. I wouldn't cut a minute of this version. Audience was very entertained.
Loved it.
Brutally honest and gut wrenchingly sad ... but true. No denying that she was an amazing talent with caring loving friends .... and then the greed of others took over and her light dimmed. The "why" is also so clear after the evidence is submitted. A tragic true story of talent and illness.
I knew nothing about Amy Winehouse going in besides her smash hit Rehab. I'm greatful for this movie, otherwise I wouldn't know the genius that is Amy Winehouse. But most of all what an amazing human being she was and in the end that's all she was was human. For a documentary it was pretty basically cut together with not much style but it really suited Amy as a person, all substance and no BS.
