Jackson recorded a special introduction to the film—which he has called his most personal—offering his perspective on why the film is important for audiences, who have never experienced WWI footage as anything but grainy black & white…and silent. In “They Shall Not Grow Old,” Jackson opens a window to the past in a way that has never been seen or heard before, noting, “Restoration is a humanizing process.” The screening will be immediately followed by special content offering firsthand insights into what went into this groundbreaking feat of research, filmmaking and storytelling. The acclaimed documentary is an extraordinary look at the soldiers and events of the Great War, using film footage captured at the time, now presented in a way the world has never seen. By utilizing state-of-the-art restoration, colorization and 3D technologies, and pulling from 600 hours of BBC archival interviews, Jackson puts forth an intensely gripping, immersive and authentic experience through the eyes and voices of the British soldiers who lived it.

A powerful work depicting the Great War. Raw and without limits. Needs to be shown to everyone.
Very powerful footage woven together into a great sharing of the experience of war, from beginning to end. There was no singular character - beyond that of "the soldier" - yet I felt like I had followed "him" from recruitment, through the war, to the experience of arriving home.A powerful film that would be a great learning tool for every citizen of every country.
Really interesting footage, stories and process. I'm dying to deep dive into whatever Peter Jackson has out here to tell us how he did this film. Between the restoration, colorization and 3D, I felt these strangers from a century ago were much more like contemporaries. I never really knew my grandfathers to even know if they were involved in the war. I'd have liked my Dad to see this.
Good for people who like history and want to learn more about WWI.The trailer was good.
Amazing movie. I learned a lot about the war. The movie was funny, heartwarming, and sad. I will tell my friends to go see it.
I thought the movie demonstrated a great effort in collecting historic photos, film, and audio tracks and editing them into an interesting anti-war documentary. Must have used modern technology to create a 3D brought it back to life. The music soundtrack connected the audio with the visual. The title, "They Shall Not Grow Old" bringing archive materials back to life.Jim Fong
Brought history back to life.
