Lisbeth Salander, the cult figure and title character of the acclaimed Millennium book series created by Stieg Larsson, will return to the screen in The Girl in the Spider's Web, a first-time adaptation of the recent global bestseller. Golden Globe winner Claire Foy, the star of "The Crown," will play the outcast vigilante defender under the direction of Fede Alvarez, the director of 2016's breakout thriller Don't Breathe; the screenplay adaptation is by Steven Knight and Fede Alvarez & Jay Basu.

I have actually never read the books and I haven’t seen the first girl with a dragon tattoo movie but I was thoroughly entertained by this movie. Claire Foy was mesmerizing as lisbeth. I’ll admit some of the action scenes were a bit over the top, but hey that’s why we go to the movies right? I wish lisbeth was a real vigilante who lived in our world maybe an abusive alcoholic rapist wouldn’t be sitting on the Supreme Court!

The story has a very topical theme of women empowerment and justice. Pacing keeps the story moving along with me waiting for the next unexpected plot twist. Many things are left for me to figure out, many parts of the storyline I have to figure out for myself. Overall I would recommend this movie to any fan of action movies.

An action packed reboot which takes Lisbeth firmly into 007-esque territory, meant in the best way possible. Great performance from Claire Foy and slick visuals make for a highly entertaining ride

I thought the movie was pretty interesting and had a very nice plot. I thought it was dragging a bit at times but I thought Claire Foy was a perfect fit for the role of Lisbeth and her accent was on point for all the movie which was impressive. I also thought the cinematography was beautiful and the long shots of snowy mountain tops really added to the feeling of helplessness and isolation felt during the intense scenes of the movie. I also greatly enjoyed Lakeith Stanfield performance.
