A heart-pounding combination of action, music and incredible aerial photography helped make Top Gun the blockbuster hit of 1986. Top Gun takes a look at the danger and excitement that awaits every pilot at the Navy's prestigious fighter weapons school. Tom Cruise is superb as Lt. Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, a daring young flyer who's out to become the best. And Kelly McGillis sizzles as the civilian instructor who teaches Maverick a few things you can't learn in a classroom.

It actually was a good movie.
Fantastic mo ie that was worth the wait for this sequel .
It could have not been better than this.
3 1/2 stars. Very solid follow up. It was a great mix of nostalgia and new. New colorful characters sprinkled with familiarity of the old. Mavs personality has matured and he is the seasoned vet the next generation need to shepard them through to the future. I watched with my 18 year old and even without nostalgia this film holds up. Jennifer Connelly shines and is effortlessly cool.

Worth the long wait for this movie. One of the best movies for a very long time. The cinematography is one of the best I've seen. You felt like you were in the planes the whole time. Great movie.
