After Portland slacker John Callahan (Joaquin Phoenix) nearly loses his life in a car accident, the last thing he intends to do is give up drinking. I like shows based on true story and this one helped to give an insight into the AA program and how handicapped are/are not helped.But I did notice that the older man at the meetings suddenly wasn't at the final meeting of the group and nothing was said of where he was. And again he wasn't in the theatre when Callahan was giving his speech. What happened to him?
