JO, THE MEDICINE RUNNER is a timeless tale for the entire family that takes place against the backdrop of the segregated coffee fields in 1920’s Hawaii -- a coming of age journey about a young man who transcends the boundaries of race and class in pursuit of a forbidden love. This epic motion picture, helmed by David L. Cunningham (TO END ALL WARS) with producer Edwin Marshall (AFTER.LIFE) tells the story about Jo, an orphan boy of mixed race, played by Ryan Potter (BIG HERO 6), who is taken in as the assistant to the new doctor in town, Doc, played by Oscar-nominated Matt Dillon (CRASH). Everything is going well until Jo falls in love with the plantation owner’s daughter and her father brings in rival Doctor Reyes, played by Jim Caviezel (PERSON OF INTEREST), who attempts to drive Jo and Doc out of town.
