Synopsis:

GREEN BOOK tells the true story of an unlikely friendship between Tony Lip, an Italian-American bouncer with a seventh-grade education, and Dr. Don Shirley, a world-class jazz pianist. In 1962, Tony is hired to drive Dr. Shirley on a concert tour from New York City through the pre-Civil Rights Era Deep South. Because Dr. Shirley was African-American, the men relied on the Negro Motorist Green Book to guide them to the few motels, restaurants and gas stations that were safe below the Mason-Dixon Line. Confronted with racism, danger, and, sometimes unexpected humanity and humor, the men are forced to set aside their differences to work together – and in the process, embark on the journey of a lifetime.
