The Pacific Island nation of Kiribati is one of the most remote places on the planet, seemingly far-removed from the pressures of modern life. Yet it’s one of the first countries that must confront an existential problem unique to our time: imminent annihilation from sea-level rise. This film profiles Kiribati President Anote Tong in his international fight to have climate displacement recognized as a human rights issue, as well as exploring the dilemma of a mother considering migrating from her beloved low-lying country to save her family.
