Brings back memories

I thought the message it delivered was absolutely phenomenal! I think everyone who grew up watching the Mr Rogers' Neighborhood show should see it, to remind them what it really means to be neighborly.However, it wasn't a documentary of Fred Rogers' life as I expected. It seemed to be more about the writer of the Esquire magazine article about Fred Rogers. Great cast overall, Tom Hanks nailed it...again!

I really enjoyed this film. It was touching without turning sappy. And it was enlightening without getting preachy. The performances were well played out, particularly the role of Lloyd Govel which, in the wrong hands, could have been a dislikeable character. The role of Mr. Rogers was masterfully played by Hanks. This film could have easily gone south a number of times. But it is so firmly bound by its commitment to the story, that it never manages to fall into any predictable traps. Well done!

It was a fantastic movie. I went into it thinking it was going to be about Fred Rogers life but instead it was a beautiful story about how positive people can make an impact on others, thoroughly enjoyed with my 15 year old son.
