I thought it was a pretty great movie. Reminded me a lot of being a seventeen year old girl and the struggles we go through in our awkward phases. I would recommend this to others!

I'm long past my teen years, but l love coming-of-age and teen angst movies. They must be good. Actually, they need to be better than good, they need to be in the vein of Some Kind of Wonderful, Sixteen Candles, Igby Goes Down, Juno, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, 10 Things I Hate About You and Easy A...to name a few COA/TA films. The Edge of Seventeen fits in well with the aforementioned. The script is terrific - witty, emotional and real. This material was like putty in the hands of many of the prime players. It's like Hailee, Hayden, Woody and Kyra's talent was the mold for the script instead of them being found to fit the characters that were on paper. Hailee Steinfeld's acting just keeps getting better - how awesome will she be in five more years?! It was wonderful seeing Woody Harrelson on the big screen again - his deadpan delivery in a few scenes were some of the best moments. Kyra Sedgewick totally made me forget she'd ever played Brenda on The Closer - loved her on that show, loved her in this movie! Hayden Szeto played loveable, talented and awkward perfectly.The Edge of Seventeen did not disappoint...it's a must see!

Much more than just another teen angst movie.. there was a really great blend of light comedic moments mixed with the truest kind of sad, maddening, disappointment that comes with emotional growth.
