It was funny. Didn't like some of the language though

It perfectly captures what it is to be a teenager. The awkwardness felt in nearly all situations until you start to understand and love yourself a bit more. It was spot on with the extreme life-or-death feel of every little thing that happens or is said because almost every teenager I've met is entirely self-absorbed so it seems that way. It is clever, amusing, and heartwarming and I would recommend it to all because everyone can relate to being on the edge of 17.

A very touching coming of age story. Hailee Steinfeld did an excellent job portraying an insecure, slightly depressed teen who deals with a self absorbed mother and a brother who seems quite narcissistic. Her angsty, often self-centered view of life, prevents her from seeing how others are also struggling with their own issues. Woody Harrelson does a great job as the seemingly unsympathetic teacher, who actually cares a lot for - and understands - his student's angst. This was a really good film. It made me laugh, it made me shed a tear or two, and I hope it does very well in theaters.

It was very cute. and probably appealed more to a younger demographic.
