Fun time with some good action. Could have had a little more reformation of John Sr. (sexism, homophobia, etc.), however.

The movie Shaft was not as good as the original. But it was fun watching Richard Roundtree, Samuel Jackson and Usher pal around together. I enjoyed the film but did not think it was a great film. For me the movie going experience was ruined by the two people sitting in front of me who talked throughout the film as if they were in their own living room.

Admittedly, I had low expectations of this movie. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the consistent humorous nature of the movie. It was exceedingly funny. The timing of its release near Father’s Day is befitting for this unconventional representation of a father/son bond.
