Could have been the beginning of a great trilogy, instead it was nearly pointless. What frustrated Me the Most was the continuous use of the phrase "wife's unexpected death" as if she fell down and bumped her head - oops shes dead, rather than the point of the plot = the fact that she was senselessly MURDERED. Not to mention there was no real vengeance or closure as it was not solved. Was 2 Blurry

The actors did a decent job, but half the time I couldn't figure out what was being said because the words were so badly slurred. The storyline was haphazard and incredibly segmented and I generally wasn't a fan. I *do* think that those who like fighting movies will enjoy the boxing scenes. They were rather forceful.

Predictable and slow! Same storyline as all the other knock down fight movies, where the good guy wins in the end. Would've enjoyed it more if there was a story line where we find out who shot the gun and better yet....WHY did they shoot? What ever happened to that character in the movie? Did they just walk off into the sunset never to be seen again?!?

I give Southpaw a 4 rating. The movie had a very good storyline and the acting was was great! Enjoyed it alot!
