It’s was fine

Doctor Sleep, the "sequel to The Shining", is a lost opportunity. It is a mediocre super-natural thriller with blunt usage of iconic elements from the original and no trace of its genius.

It's too long and the suspense evaporates.

I had the same feeling after this movie as I did after watching "The Phantom Menace". It took everything great about "The Shining" and burned it to the ground with an exposition filed remake of "Twilight". The acting was dry and the dialogue over explained and described everything that could have just been shown on screen. The scary elements were very well done, however, hence the 2 stars.
