The movie lacked the true element of horror/surprise. It had original content but it was done very safely. There were also parts that dragged in the middle.

Too slow and lacking overall suspense/horror. The kids acting was the best part

The cast was good. It felt like there was no effort put into the writing at all. The methods used to beat La Llorona made no sense. The score was very poor. The jump scares were ineffective. The buildup to them went on for too long. This ghost is a failure. She had more opportunities to get these kids then I can count on all my fingers and toes combined and she still couldn’t do it.

The movie misses story and there was enough time to tell a little more on how was it that La llorona moved from Mexico to California. I think that with 30 more minutes it would had been a better story and a movie of 2 hours. The character is just like the nun, not very creative creating a different costume.
