Pretty unscary, although had some suspense and jumpy moments. The story has been told over and over again and the reference to 'Annabel' or 'The Conjuring' did not help. Although the audience was older than usual for this type of movie they laughed and giggled aloud. Probably not the reaction that the movie was going for.

Excited for the film, but it seems like they used the legend to carry it. Everyone in it is a person of color except the lead. Why? You could have done the same story with a Latina, or lean into the clueless white lady. Her dead Latino husband probably would have told the kids the legend, so the mixed couple feels gimmicky. Shot beautifully, but story was not on par with the Universe. Not scary

I didn't think much of the story. But the scares were good. Im looking forward to what the director will do with Conjuring 3. The acting was good. Didn't explain why Llorona went after the first lady in the movie. Overall i would still recommend the movie cause of the scares.

It was scary, but just typical jump scares which seem easy to do with loud music and a scary face. The jump scares made it entertaining but the story had some holes and the main character only ever asked why and what do we do, which is just boring by now for female characters. We wanted more character depth. The guy that played the ex-priest who helps them get rid of the spirit is a great actor
