It fell short.Felt like 2-hour excuse for so-so chariot race.It had action, but no intensity. The book has Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead-like relationship to the Bible, this felt like it shoehorned Jesus in.No character had reasons for doing what they did.All women were useless.Huston only has 3 expressions.Your tagline is terrible and wrong.Send Timor back to director school, pls.

Poor. Not strong character actors (who can complete with Charlton?) and way too much violence or gore. Sound (volume) was inconsistent between whispers and ear-hurting disasters. Sorry, not a winner. Would not recommend to friends.

It was an unnecessary remake that failed to present the scectacle of the most well known film adaptation. It had some stiff dialog and many unneeded shots. They turned a biblical epic into another generic action movie.

The movie was okay up to the end. The last fifteen minutes ruined the entire film. Too much of a Hollywood ending that was completely unbelievable. Gratuitous violence against horses could have been toned down a bit. 2.5 Stars. Would have been 3 stars with a better ending.
