This movie is awesome. Almost to real, as my wife had to cover her eyes during much of the battle scenes. Shows how real war really is with many giving their ultimate sacrifice. Desmond was a true hero.I give it at least a 4 and rate it a 5 in this review as compared to Michael Phillips with Tribune News Service which rated it a 2 1/2 in today's paper. He must have had his eyes closed too.

This was a GREAT film. Something I could watch again and again. The characters, the action, EVERTHING was captivating.

This was a spectacular movie. The actors did a great job. First time I have even attended a movie where at the end the audience got up and applauded it.

Definitely Oscar winning material. It is not for the faint of heart. The gore and brutality of war is portrayed in such a realistic way that I will have no desire to ever see it again. But it is a tragic, griping, heart-wrenching, beautiful film and a worthy tribute to one man's honor, integrity, and courage to stay true to his convictions. Solid 5 stars!
