The acting by Fastbender and Cotillard was spellbinding. The cinematography and music made for a very intense movie experience.My only criticism is that the Scottish accents were so heavy in some parts that the dialogue was hard to understand if you were not well versed in Macbeth.A great treatment of a great piece of classic literature!

Pretty Intense

Too much of the setting and dialogue sounded as if it were growled. Too primitive.

While beautifully shot and amazingly well acted, this adaption of Shakespeare's Macbeth is a really good film for film geeks and huge movie buffs. However, general audiences might not take to very easily or even at all. I liked the film for what it was but it's very bleak (so was the source material though); therefore, I probably won't add it my collection for frequent screenings.
