Fairy-tale-ish with a lot of class thanks to Dame Judi Dench.

The scenery and costumes were a nice representation of the era. The acting was decent but the movie dragged on way too long. I could hear mumbles and restlessness of fellow audience members.

Very interesting from an historical standpoint; however, too slow moving and not enough content.

Judi Dench saves movie from being bad... Make up mind...us it dark, factual or comedy? Didnt care about Abdul too passive.Loved Scottish scenery.
