Slow to start, but necessary in order to educate. The plot was interesting and the characters fleshed out. The ending in the French lifeboats was lacking and seemed like it was made in a very large bathtub. Not believable at all. Overall, the gloss and color was very "Hollywood" and could have been grittier to lend solemnity to the history.

I had a hard time just watching the people get killed for doing nothing wrong. It was definitely a tear jerker.

It was very difficult to care about a character that married for money and only felt slightly guilty AFTER cheating on the girl and family that gave him the money.

This movie was a plot turning adventure with a surprisingly sad ending.
