3.5 stars. It was a good movie, a little confusing and slow to begin with. Once you understood what was going on, it was exciting and had you wondering what was going to happen. The backplot of her daughter dieing was sad was hoping it actually had something to do with the Aliens

I liked this movie but I didn't love it. Although it was very captivating I found it empty and slow moving at times. I didn't get a real feel for any of the characters except for Amy Adams who played Louise. The visuals were fantastic though! Best part of the movie.

I feel that there are two kinds of alien movies - the shoot them up kind and the smart kind. This one is the latter which also tend to be slow. There are some heavy ideas in here and at times felt very slow. Overall, a good movie but expect an action movie.
