Heartbreaking but real. Denzel and Viola Davis Shine in this character piece. It very much feels and comes across like your sitting in the theatre watching the play. It's beautiful and funny one minute and devastating the next.

I didn't know the story, and it's wonderful. Viola Davis should win the academy award for her performance. Denzel Washington was also excellent, but his performance felt more like he was on the stage instead of being in a movie - formulaic. Viola's performance was authentic and organic. Loved it!

Great acting

This movie was fantastic. It has unpredictable turning points, and then family values were present throughout the film that exposed the African American culture and struggles.
