Powerful performance by Gary Oldman as Churchill worthy of an Oscar. It should win for Best cinematography.Good background history lesson, but the film never really connects viscerally, except in the emotional scene at the end when Churchill seeks the advice of subway commuters.Unfortunately, it's all bout words, words, words and speeches and more speeches. The film livens up in the last hour.

Great performance by Oldman. He WAS the movie.Too long at 2 hours+..... better perhaps as a Documentary than as a film with oodles of dialogue but little else to offer!!

Captured an intense time in history. All acting was great. All the facial close ups were too much.

It wasn't for me.
