The movie was very poignant and moving. The attention to detail was impressive. It may have been the theater acoustics but, I found the language accents hard to follow and really understand in a lot of scenes. The post viewing panel discussion was great.

Great movie.

This was a compelling re-imagination of the series from the late 70's. This iteration seems to strive for authenticity. Like any slave related movie, it is hard to watch at times but I enjoyed the story as it was told.

It had great content, yet was a bit too instigational for me to be comfortable with. I heard many people compare it to a way to show people where they came from, like Jewish films do for their people. I have to disagree a bit. The majority of jewish films do show the tragedies that occurred, but the do not insight feelings of violence within the hearts of the viewers. So it lost a star.
