It was alright it wasn't as nail biting or upsetting as the original...I didn't see much emphasis on Kuntas stubbornness or his determination to keep his name and say his family's name as well I felt like that's a very key part in the series

The first installment was not yet finished but we felt the quality for this reboot of the groundbreaking miniseries was not high enough. Please incorporate at least some of the original Quincy Jones theme into the production. So important to existing fans. Please recut the "passage" scenes: slower pacing, less action, more ocean, more soul crushing solitude.

Overall, I thought it was good. I especially liked the way the film created a foundation for Kunta Kente and our people in Africa.What I did not like was the narrative about our ancestors being slaves in Africa...our ancestors enslaving their rivals (each other). That is incorrect, a misnomer! The capture and servitude that took place in Africa was based on Prisoners of War . Do the research!
