Finally a movie with some length! Scenery & BG actors realistic. Expected more from principal actors. Story riveting & well told. Wish more insight to Padre's inner struggles about his beliefs.

Basé sur un livre à succès,au XVIIe siècle ou les persécutions religieuses sont monnaie courante et la population chrétienne martyrisée, rendu à l’écran donnent lieu à des scènes horrifiantes, des images dures. La foi et le doute sont mis à rude épreuve et les scènes de torture dictent aux âmes sensibles de s’abstenir. Les rochers y sont abrupts,les scènes intenses;faut presque retenir son souffle

Some good acting and cinematography but too long and too much torture.

Andrew Garfield did a great job acting in the film! The movie was bit slow and I must admit I fell asleep during the screening. Adding more upbeat climatic scenes between the first and second hour could have improved the slow tempo of the movie. Overall, it was a great film portraying the struggles of Christians in Buddhist dominated Japan.
