A very one dimensional love story. Cliche without reason. Umbrellas of cherbourg does this story way way better.

A shallow adaptation of the book and its wider themes that oversimplifies the characters and muddles the grander appeal of the story. The visuals are beautiful but the film itself is ultimately emotionally empty.

Not even close to the original novel. Garbage direction, camera work was the only silver lining.
