I found the movie's attempt at adaptation quite disappointing. On its own, I think the movie offers a lot in terms of style and performances, and could appeal to a broad audience, similarly to Saltburn. Personally, however, I can't entirely separate the movie from its source material, and I cannot justify many of the changes Emerald Fennell made. In turning Wuthering Heights into an idealized romance, Fennell has removed all the complexity of the book and, ironically, pushed the story away from its titular setting.

Gross misunderstanding of the book. And worse, it’s boring.
