story plot weak but good action/CGI effects

One of the better apocalypse movies. Balanced the right amount of peril and hope. It had cheesy, outlandish moments, but it's a movie about an ELE so there's bound to be some. It probably shouldn't have relied so heavily on all of the comet shots in the trailers because the story was more about the family and survival than the comet itself. But overall, I'd say it was a really decent film.
