I wish there had been a 'maybe' button to the question of whether I would recommend the movie to others. Let's say I would recommend it with some caveats, like if you find the constant foul language & the treatment of women by 'nice guys' who are opportunistic predators objectionable, then this movie isn't for you. However, it did have some interesting turns & a few things I didn't see coming. The lengths the main character went to & her imagination in getting revenge kept me interested.

There's a lurid fascination as to how the story will unfold (one which keeps us watching), but the ending is over-the-top. Why does the woman have to die? We've seen this (male) perspective since Shakespeare (Ophelia, Desdemona anyone?), and as to the hysterical woman character, this has been a stereotype ever since the Greek dramatists. I have mixed feelings about it. Important subject that doesn't really give us optimism that the system will change as to how it will deal w/ rape, and instead throws it back onto women to devise a complex revenge strategy. By and large, good performances.
