May too much melodrama... could Woodcock ever buy a clue about the "meaning of life" before how many attempts at poisoning.

The movie had some good parts and had opportunities to go places, but for me it just didn't quite work. It was a little slow and awkward.

Phenomenal cinematography and acting. The story...really. I get what the intended rationale of the mother-thing is for his consent to the mushrooming, but it is unbelievable that the character would do this. Seriously unbelievable. And even so, other less dangerous ways of doing this. He continues to need to be poisoned to take a break from work and be mothered. Really? And the misogynistic plot of a woman hanging on to man via poisoning and then he likes it? Really out of step with the times. Too bad. Dreadful story...ruins amazing performances and cinematography..
