Although, I thought the message of the movie was clear to me, I wished it had more of a story. It just felt as if there was more of a story line that was missing. The beginning as well as the end. I would still reccomend this movie because I enjoyed the message behind the movie.

I enjoyed the film but it is somewhat slow in the beginning till the story unfolds and somewhat difficult at times. I like movies with strong women characters and I admire this character's brazen attempt to survive alone in such a tough environment. In the end, I think the film proved that complete isolation may not be the best way to handle loss of loved ones, that it's better to have some kind of companionship in this world (even if it is simply the loyalty of a dog), and that love finds its way, if it's meant to be. Bravo to Robin Wright on her directing and acting. Good story!

It was reasonably watchable; not really good (4 stars) nor great (5 stars). But I did tear up at the end.\rI thought it was slow at the outset; almost gave up but something piqued my interested and I stayed with it.\rI found one thing unrealistic. Obviously a glass window was broken (in winter) as she is shown sweeping up the glass. She proceeds to live for, what?, weeks with an open window in the dead of winter without freezing to death? I know from experience that such a cabin would be as cold as the outdoor temp. She'd be dead. Anyone would tack a tarp over it at least.

I enjoyed the living in the wilderness storyline - getting away from society theme but totally missed the reason why this person chose to live this way (I missed part of the beginning due to Internet connection issues).
