I think the film is too long and tedious. Although the acting a very good, it just isn't that good a plot and their entire relationship is very strange. I also could not quite understand why she is confessing to the doctor about poisoning her husband so he would depend more on her...has she accidentally gone too far and killed him?Not that I really cared bacuse I did not like the characters in the film at all.

VERY slow moving and just strange.

I thought the leads were more caricatures than realistic people. I found it so slow moving and unengaging that I was anxious for it to be over. Daniel Day Lewis acted well but the character has no redeeming aspects, nor did the sister.There are lots of driven, genius artists who still has some degree of humanity. He had none.
