It was fine.

Great adaptation of the source material- super bleak and upsetting but balanced nicely by really strong chemistry from the ensemble. Really enjoyed.

Very visceral and hard to watch film, it was a well made film, technically good film hence the 4 star rating. But it was an emotionally difficult journey, and I'm not sure the point. There wasn't enough world building as to why these boys put themselves though that, I get that it's a metaphor for the Vietnam war but that was over 50 years ago so unless you were alive back then, you might not connect with the message.

I thought it was really well done especially since we were watching people walk the entire movie. It's bleak and grim, but this is the world we live in.
