It was super intense, and hard to follow what the underlying issue was. A bit more of the background information should have been given to help understand who the characters were. The actors are all very good seasoned actors that provided good acting, but the story was a bit disconnected.

Visually beautiful. The movie lags at certain points, and somewhat disjointed with intense performances.

While the cinematography was excellent and there was some great dialogue, the overall story arc was not compelling and the pacing was slow. Having said that, I would watch it again. And am recommending on the basis of what felt to be an attempt to bring magical realism from the page to the screen as a method of creating character interiority. I’m not sure it aways worked but I appreciated the attempt.

Nice directorial debut from Ronan, beautiful cinematography and as usual a great performance from Daniel Day-Lewis. The movie pace is too slow tho due to an old story brought us here on a different perspective to match Ronan's directing style
