The rewrite of the story was goodish, but not nearly as clever as the novel and felt very rushed. There are few miss opportunities that could have been great. The Shinning part was very interesting until it turned into Hunted Mansion and became cheese. The riddles for each keys felt uncreative and lake the interest geeky aspect. The final battle should include air ships instead sudden appearance.

Good special effects, but the story was very confusing. The underlying story about the conditions for the future were not well described. Could not make out if it was too serious or too 'kid-friendly'. You had to be very well-versed with all the entertainment references (Batman, Spawn, Harley, etc.).Watchable movie but would lose most people after the first half. Too predictable ...

I thought the film was really fast pace, but fun and enjoyable. I loved the book, so at first some of the changes through me off, but they grew on me. definitely seeing the movie again!

The film was fun and exciting. However it's WAY different than the book. The best thing about the book was all the 80's references, and I feel like they dumbed down a lot of the 80s stuff. Maybe they thought the audience wouldn't get it? I was excited to see the War Games bit. And I was frustrated they changed all the keys and the challenges. I think the average mover goer will enjoy the film.
