"Neon Demon" would have better served the "story" as a photography exhibition curated by Gregory Crewdson. This cheap David Lynch knock-off doesn't hold a candle to NWR's early work, especially the Los Angeles centric "Drive." The shock and gore makes for an interesting theater-going experience, however that is not enough to keep people talking about the film's and NWR's merit. Wholly disappointing, but there continues to be a kernel of glittering hope that the filmmaker can return to form.

The director indulged in too much self-diddling which took away from rather than adding to his presumed point.

Loved the first half. Visually breathtaking and sensory. Last half was unnecessary and seemed glamorized rape and necrophilia. No people of color. No variety of body types.
