I only knew it was based on a true story before going to see it. I did watch the trailer, but that really did not convey the intensity of this movie. It was really well done - very emotional. This man stood by his beliefs and stayed to help the rest of his team when others thought they were all lost. I liked the interviews at the end of the movie allowing viewers to "meet" the real person.

Omg amazing I can't wait to see it again

A weeeeeee bit heavy on the religion, but when contrast with those WAR sequences.... HOLY CRAP! The D-day sequence in Saving Private Ryan has nothing on Mel Gibson's masterwork here! Personal drama aside, I hope Gibson does more directing soon, and picks up a few trophies for this classic war film!
