It lacked inspiration. It was a good action movie but for a movie based on the Bible, it lacked spirituality.

Too many dicrepancies from the bible.

The movie was visually appealing. When it came to the casting, acting and storytelling it failed. It is clear that they didn't stay close to the story when it came to details, given they only have 2 hours to present they're adaptation of the Moses story, they completely disrepected the biblical adaptation.

Much like Noah, Exodus suffered from a number of things. Christian Bales turn as Moses (or Moshe as he liked to be called) was a gruff, Hebrew hating Egyptian until he reaches the red sea, which throws into question his motives for helping the Hebrews in the first place.
