A teen movie, sappy, predictable and long. The cinematography was gorgeous but it was too precious for an adult discerning audience.

Undeveloped characters, Britt Robertson is over acting most of the movie. I mean, that is fiction, but so unrealistic that its getting ridiculous very fast.

I enjoyed watching this movie, but the story was utterly ridiculous. Every single thing that happened, seemed rushed and nonsensical. Starting in the very first act, in NO SCENARIOS EVER would an astronaut manage to get on a mission to Mars while pregnant. Astronauts go through health screening every single day. That would just never happen. And then when Gardner was being sent back to Earth, it was literally, 'No, we can't send him back, there's no way" to, "Hey Gardner, you're going back to Earth!" followed by a grand total of two scenes to "explain" how that would even be possible. And when he's on the run with Tulsa, I'm sorry, these are two 16 year old kids, committing many, many felonies. Forget the fact that Gardner's disappearance is a HUGE breech of many top secret organizations, they just would not have been able to get away with everything they were doing. Finally, when Gardner is literally dying, and Gary Oldman just flies a spaceship out into outer space and somehow Gardner is just magically completely healed? That's blatantly ludicrous. Having said all that, I did have fun watching this movie. The two leads were good, had great chemistry and the story between them was actually quite touching. But instead of being transported into this world, I was frequently thinking to myself how very ridiculous the entire scenario was.

It had some funny parts but it was corney and some parts didn't make sense. Feel in love way too fast and then i don't understand if they loved each other so much way didn't she go with him back to Mars, there was no reason for her to stay on earth. And why didn't his father ever confess he was until last minute. Maybe Gardner wouldn't have spent all that time running.
