I have not read the source novel, but I enjoyed this adaptation. This material seems tailor=made for Spielberg to direct, and taps into the nostalgia for his defining film work of the 80s and 90s. I wish there had been more effort to include more characters from non-WB owned properties. Besides the Back to the Future DeLorean (a Universal film) I noticed most other background characters were WB.

It is a really fun movie with great action and visuals. If you grew up with 80s pop culture then you will love all the references throwbacks.

Loved all the 80's nostalgia. Makes me want to read the book now.
