fun but a hot mess that doesn't know what kind of movie genre it is so it does it all. also it takes narrative beats directly from the MCU, which did them better.

It wasn’t a bad movie, but I didn’t really feel amazed by it either. It is worth watching at least once though.

Cheesy movie - has some good parts. Lack of good chemistry with Mera, who you'd think would be critical her, especially given the plot, makes the movie too light. Rehabilitating Orm, responsible for mass killings, as a sidekick plays down the character. Black Manta cant decide if he is ruthless or not. The movie is somewhat disjointed. The connection of Aquaman to the wider world, after the events of the Justice League movie, also begs where it fits in the wider DCU.

It wasn’t very good. It seemed like the end of an era and everyone knew it.
